Mission and Vision

Our School's Mission Statement

Nueva Vista is a multicultural learning community dedicated to achieving academic excellence and providing all students with a rigorous, standards-based instructional program that prepares our students to be college and career ready.  We are committed to providing each student with a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment focusing on meeting the social-emotional and academic needs of each individual student..

Our School's Vision

The vision of Nueva Vista Elementary Magnet is to provide a rigorous academic curriculum for all students. The vision includes the expectation that all students will be college and career ready as they progress through their school years at Nueva Vista. Students are expected to develop character traits that will enable them to be self-reliant, responsible and respectful members of a school community and society. Students are expected to follow the character pillars stated in the School’s Positive Behavior Plan. The Nueva Vista Curriculum will include the state adopted Common Core State Standards. 

• Students will master grade level standards and be able to apply these in real world settings (what all students should know, understand, and be able to do) 

• Students are expected to develop character traits that will enable them to follow and display the character pillars stated on the School’s Positive Behavior Plan (expectations of positive character traits)

• Students are expected to learn a curriculum under the Common Core State Standards that will equip them to be college, career ready and 21st century learners. 

• Nueva Vista community; administrators, teachers, support staff and parents understand the commitment to high academic student achievement, and the importance of collaboration in the school. This collaboration will include participation in school councils, parent workshops and ongoing professional development for teachers. 

• Nueva Vista understands the importance of mentoring our students to become Digital Citizens and 21st century learners.  All stakeholders are committed to helping our student scholars achieve technology readiness.
