Nueva Vista Elementary Welcomes our new principal, Mr. Jimenez!
A message from Mr. Jimenez.
August 10, 2020
Dear Nueva Vista School Community,
Welcome to our 2020-2021 school year! My name is Francisco Jimenez, newly assigned principal at Nueva Vista Elementary School. I want to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My career began with LAUSD in 2003 in a small urban school in the heart of the East Los Angeles community. Throughout my professional career, I have served as a teacher, a Problem and Solving-Data Coordinator, Title I/EL Coordinator, and most recently, Elementary Assistant Principal handling Title I/EL duties as well. I cannot begin to tell you how humbled and honored I feel at the opportunity to work at Nueva Vista Elementary in the capacity of principal. I am really looking forward to learning with and from all of you and to build on past practices to make the vision of ensuring that all students at Nueva Vista Elementary School achieve academic and creative excellence in a safe, sound and challenging environment.
I want for your children the same things that you want: a safe, nurturing, and rigorous learning environment. While your children are here at Nueva Vista Elementary School, we promise to care for them, spark their curiosity and build their love of learning through content-packed, project-based and technology-driven learning activities. I invite you to participate in our learning community so that we may strengthen our ideas as we implement a rigorous-thinking curriculum in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade, as described in the California State Standards. This will help us ensure high academic achievement for all our students. Together, we can ensure that Nueva Vista Elementary School is a climate where high-quality and innovative teaching and learning is happening in every single classroom and as we begin with distance learning.
With passion, integrity, and tenacity I will be sure to keep the promise of creating a culture of life-long learners at Nueva Vista Elementary. Education is the great equalizer, and our children deserve a better tomorrow. I look forward to meeting you to begin this exciting work together.
Sincerely,
Francisco Jimenez Principal
